Innovative technology

Most fluids can transport heat quite well, but how long they last and how clean they maintain your system are what truly matter. We begin with a variety of incredibly stable, inherently robust base stocks, including pure silicones and highly refined, heavily hydro-treated paraffinic oils.

The majority of competing fluids end there, but ours are enhanced for long-term, trouble-free operation with a special blend of additives specifically tailored for heat transfer applications. These aren’t your typical generic additives; our package is specifically designed and optimized for heat transfer fluids. Some might argue that additives are not required. Nevertheless, we encourage you to read below and decide whether your system could benefit from Duratherm’s additional protection and enhancements.

Antioxidants

These are essential for any application that is not hermetically sealed from the atmosphere. In the absence of a nitrogen blanket on your expansion tank or reservoir, it is imperative that your fluid incorporates an antioxidant. Oxidation results in obstructions and ultimately culminates in total system collapse.

Anti-Corrosion Agents

Most systems will experience water pollution at some point. Moisture venting through the expansion tank or oil reservoir, whether originating from faulty heat exchangers or drawn from humid air, can result in corrosion within the tank. Our corrosion inhibitors effectively mitigate this risk.

Defoaming Agents

During initiation, air may become entrapped within a system. Pumping generates air bubbles (foaming), which may result in pump cavitation, potentially harming pumps and other system components. Our patented additive formulation includes defoaming agents to prevent air from creating foam in the oil.

Gasket and Seal Extender

High-temperature applications exert significant stress on seal and gasket materials. Our seal and gasket extenders mitigate thermal damage that may lead to premature seal failure. Investing significantly in high-temperature seals necessitates maximizing their longevity.

Suspension Agents

Certain fluids accumulate carbon and other particulate materials after prolonged usage. Even newly installed systems can accumulate weld slag and metal shavings, which may become ensnared in instrument lines or create issues in other regions. Our suspension agents facilitate the maintenance of particles in suspension, allowing for efficient filtration or capture in strainers.

Metal Deactivators

Certain metals utilized in the fabrication of heat transfer systems may react with the oil, leading to premature degradation. Our metal deactivators guarantee compatibility with all systems, including those including copper lines, heat exchangers, or fittings.
