Duratherm Fluid Analysis: Now with Enhanced Capabilities

By May 26, 2018August 29th, 2025No Comments

Duratherm has long provided one of the most comprehensive fluid analysis services in the industry. Now, we’ve enhanced it with new features that make it even more valuable—while still keeping it free of charge.

The analysis now includes Auto-Ignition Temperature (AIT) testing and Infrared (IR) Scanning of your fluid samples.

AIT refers to the temperature at which a fluid will ignite without the presence of a spark or flame. Because a heat transfer fluid’s AIT can decrease if it has thermally degraded, monitoring it is an important safety measure. Simply put, knowing your fluid’s AIT helps you maintain safe operations—you never want your system running near or below it.

Over the lifespan of most heat transfer systems, it’s also likely that some level of contamination will occur. Our new IR Scanning feature detects contaminants by identifying irregularities in your fluid’s profile and then cross-referencing them against a large database to determine the source. Whether it’s from an accidental top-off or a process leak, IR Scanning provides clarity and helps trace the cause.

We’ve always encouraged regular fluid analysis, and now with AIT measurement and IR Scanning, our free program offers even greater protection and insight.

If you’d like assistance in setting up a monitoring plan for your fluid, let us know—we’re here to support you.
